Welcome to Batangas
Batangas is located southwestern of Luzon in the Philippines. It has 31 municipalities
and three cities. The Provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Quezon and Mindoro are its
nearby neighbors. Most of the towns are surrounded with water, thus it is famous for
its beaches, marine life, and flora.
The Batangueños (local residents) dialect is Tagalog, the main language most
Filipinos use. English is well understood and spoken by most of the natives.
There are many things to see about the historical background of the province. Drop
by the towns of Taal, Mabini, Lipa City and Batangas City, to see the basilicas and
Old Spanish houses. And see architecture during the Pre Spanish Times.
The Batangas Port is considered the trading point in the Calabarzon region. It has a
passenger terminal to different islands in the Philippines. These makes the province a
half way point to Puerto Gallera and other key cities of the Philippines Island.

Ala eh Festival
The Ala-Eh Festival is known to be the most colorful and grandiose celebration of the province of Batangas which celebrates the Founding of the Province on December 8.
Anihan Festival 2013 is scheduled for a week-long celebration from Sept. 24 to 29. Visit Lobo and experience Anihan Festival! And don’t forget to taste the sweetest atis in the country!
The Calacatchara Festival usually runs for a week ending in October 24, the feast day of the town’s patron saint, St. Raphael the Archangel. Because of Mayor Sofronio “Nas” Ona Jr.’s desire to revive the then weakening industry of atchara, he came up with this festival to promote the appetizing dish during his first term of office.
The Les Kuhliembo Festival which stands for tamaLES, KUlambo, Habi, LIEMpo, tuBO. These are relevantly the primary products of Ibaan, Batangas. The festival is being celebrated every 11th of February.
Sigpawan Festival celebrated during Easter Sunday, the festival's highlight is the Fluvial procession along coastal areas of the town. The festival showcases the rich culture and natural resources of Lemery
Sinukmani Festival is a prestige and popular festival in the town of Rosario, Batangas that commenced last 2005. It is celebrated every 9th of June. The highlight of this activity is the Longest and Most Creative Sinukmani for the year.
To showcase Lipa City's prime agricultural products or crops where the name of the festival was derived namely "mais" (corn), "kape" (coffee and cacao), lanzones, and niyog (coconut)./...thus MaKaLanYog was born!
The Philippines is generally a festive nation, and Batangas festival is one good example. Maybe because of the Spanish influence during the 16th – 18th century the Philippines was colonize by the Spaniards. According to the old Filipinos, the Spanish in the early days where the one’s who initiated the festive mood in the Philippines.
These festive celebrations do exist in the province of Batangas. In the month of May, most of the barrios do celebrate the barrio fiestas. I still remember when an employee of mine takes a vacation leave, because it was their barrio fiesta. This is a celebration that the batangueños can’t miss.
